Second Week

The Incarnation

See the three Divine Persons looking upon the whole round earth and deciding on our redemption.

Preparatory prayer

Ask God our Lord for the grace that all my intentions, actions and works may be directed purely to the service and praise of his Divine Majesty.

Composition of place

See the great round world with all its many peoples; and see also, in heaven, the three Divine Persons on their royal throne.

Petition

Ask for an inner knowledge of the Lord, who became man for me, that I may love him more and follow him more closely.

Points

  1. See the people on the face of the earth in all their variety: of every colour, some at peace and some at war, some weeping and some laughing, some being born and some dying.
  2. See the three Divine Persons looking down on the whole round earth, full of people who are going to ruin.
  3. Hear what the Divine Persons say: “Let us work the redemption of the human race.”
  4. Look at what they do: they send the Angel Gabriel to Our Lady. Contemplate Mary’s humility as she says, “Behold the handmaid of the Lord.”

Colloquy

Think what I ought to say to the three Divine Persons, or to the Word made flesh, or to his Mother and our Lady, asking according to what I feel moved to ask, and say an Our Father.
